Canna coccinea 'Bonfire' is a cultivar with very bright fiery-red flowers with long narrow staminodes which give it an elegant, refined and very delicate appearance.
The stems are dark purplish-red, often with a silvery-blue powdery bloom to them and the seed pods also mature to a dark purplish-red maroon colour.
The foliage is green with some purple colouration and the margins have an attractive edging of purplish-red.
Canna coccinea 'Bonfire' is a desirable Canna reaching about 1.5m and with its delicate flower is a perfect foil to the larger-flowering hybrid groups.

Water - Pour 1 cup or 200ml every day only when the soil begins to dry out. Do not over-water as it leads to root-rot. Water early in the morning or late evening when temperatures are cooler and direct sun will not cook off the moisture before it can seep down to the roots.
Temperature - Ideal temperature 18-24 degrees celcius.
Care Tips - Keep the soil moist, but never wet or soggy. Indoor bonfire water plant should also be watered frequently to keep the soil consistently moist.
Light Requirement- Prefers locations that have partial shade and light, rich, moist and well-drained soils. Full shade is tolerated.
